Spring is the time of plans and projects.

The past weeks I’ve been working with the website update, translating content (welcome back, my native finnish) and done some other adjustments. I’ve went through the material already online and not yet published, and made plans for what adventures to do this season, for pleasure and for blog material.
And oh boy what a wanderlust I have now! Ok well, it’s not just these pics, and memories of the past adventures and amazing experiences and the need to do for content – it’s also, or even more, the toughness of the current everyday, hard work and little play, which makes me want to just leave it and go (before it’s too late and I turn into Jake in Shining).
I just want to flee it all, to get a remedy, therapy, whatever. To take a
few many steps and get a whole new perspective, a big one, on things and life in general. Anyone else familiar with this feeling?
Don’t you sometimes feel the same, the urge to just leave the paper on the desk unwritten (or the more accurate now, project report on the screen) and just go? Wander deep into the woods, over rolling hills, along rivers and up the mountains, get lost in big cities and find peace in the most unexpected places… Don’t you also sometimes just look at the map, sometimes hour after hour, and find foreign countries to visit, paths to follow, remote huts to stay the night in, and peaks with the amazing views to climb up to?
Or is it just me?
Here I am, looking maps and my hiking boots and fliplops. Sending messages with pieces of tour maps attached. “How about this? – When are you free again? – Should we try this loop this summer?” And so on.
Going back and forth like this, keeping an eye on the snow reports, and other on the
bank account credit balance, remembering the tour when we reached the Shreckhornhütte just before sunset, and the day when the ibexes had perfectly placed themselves on the gliff, in front of the perfect Alpine panorama. And the first frost in Lapland, and the surfing in Morocco.
In other words, it’s spring and time to make some plans and projects and excute them soon. And get out there, even for a litte evening tour, for the preparation of greater adventures, which to later remember like this and share with others (sorry not sorry if you caught the wanderlust bug now).
Where you going this summer?
