SHADES OF WINTER CAMP Engelberg presented by GoPro from Sandra Lahnsteiner on Vimeo.

Shades of Winter Camp Engelberg presented by GoPro | 17th – 20th December 2015

16 girls from 7 nations came together to explore the amazing off-piste opportunities Engelberg-Titlis has to offer. There is a reason why Matilda Rapaport moved herself to Engelberg and calls it home! Coached by the Shades of Winter athletes Matilda, Melissa Presslaber and Sandra Lahnsteiner they girls left inspired, full of confidence, with new avalanche awareness and most important – as a group of new friends. A weekend full of passion among rippin’ ladies! Get inspired!

PS. I should move myself to Engelberg too..

Edit 14.7.2018 and I really made Switzerland my second home, though not Engelberg (yet?).

Postcard from Eastern Lapland. Nordic skiing and fluffy snow.

I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says “Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”

After some heroic moves; packing and dragging (by myself and myself only) these (heavy) bags to the train – 7,5 h train (with no restaurant service(!) – a coffee break (because the no-restaurant thingy) and 1h drive I’m finally here, 66° N Lapland. Full board, free bar, perfectly prepared cross-country skiing tracks, sauna and silence. My own private luxury holiday destination. Family members only.*

After the long train ride nothing is better than putting on your cross-country skis and do some rounds on these. Then sauna, beer and good sleep. An almost perfect wellness holiday’s seemingly forming.

*Can’t recommend the resort itself, but I do recommend Lapland in general; to be from Lapland or finding yourself a very own Laplander who’d invite you to his/her exclusive destination.
